Another Day, another shitty gig.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE what I do. I'm getting a nice little card that says "Matt Pniewski" and Under it, it says "Director/Assistant Director/Production Management". Assistant Director and Production Management seem to imply PA work is also something I can do.

So, I got this interview today. I am going to be Assistant Director on a Short Film hopefully. On more then one for the same person. I love the idea of steady work. Not steady money, but steady work. I want to have been an AD plenty of times before Dark Knight starts filming here.

Anyway, the short film is about two people, who in a cliche moment, start doubting their love for eachother. They break up, we see numerous montages where they hook up with other people, and meet once again in a Jewelry store. They exchange pleasantries and end on a bittersweet note in what up until then was pretty much a bad episode of a sitcom without jokes.

I'm working ona Commercial on Saturday. They are paying me Credit, Copy, and a "Bag of Stuff." I've never worked for a bag of stuff before, but it should prove to be quite interesting. What is the bag of stuff worth? What can I do with the stuff? Is it fun stuff? Or did they garbage pick it? Hurray, I have me a bag of stuff.

Well, I'm Back

The work's been getting to me lately... And I'm a workaholic so what do I do? Ask for more?

Now starts three weeks of doing nothing before classes start, and I take a full class load while making a movie on the weekends....

Damn, it's been so long since I updated this thing. What is their to say? I love my school, I hate my mother, and I'm addicted to Bloodrayne.

I hate my class mates. Why can't they be at my level? Yes, I think I am superior, but the thing is, I don't understand why they are so damn inferior. I'm nothing special. I can do better work then they can, faster then they can. We missed a couple projects in editing because these fuckers were still wondering how to do simply work when I was busy finishing mine.

Please enjoy both versions of my directorial debut, a student film made on no budget. I served as Director on this project, and played the "Fat Zombie."

The Director's Cut (or "Brother Filmmaker" Version) is Black and White.

The Original is Green (or the "Ghettoplex" Version).

That's the only difference.

Please don't point out the fact that it is dark and shadowy... That is sort of the point after all. The original intent was to do it as close to "Night of the Living Dead" style as possible. However, we decided to go about it differently. For that effect, I went as far as making the film look like an aged Public Domain print (i.e. the one I own....)

No gore, we couldn't afford it. No SFX, we couldn't afford it. We got some make up, but ultimately I would have used Charcoal for the "black around the eyes" which barely shows up anyway. But some pussies had to have "Health concerns."

Anyway, here are the films. Both will also be playing on my myspace.

Director's Cut:

I understand since nothing is cut, it's technically not a "Director's Cut". Humor me.

Well, this also brings up an important point: Fast Zombies. Do they suck? Well, fast zombies are harder to pull off, and to make scary. It could be done.

But why do zombies necessarily have to be slow. They are undead, strength is that of the average man. So why can't the run fast? They have only the most primal of urges: to eat. So, if that's the case, why not run? Who says they must be slow?

Okay, I do not have a major movie deal, and I am not getting a nobel peace prize.

So, no, I am not really engaged to be married.

Sorry for the lack of updates. Basically, there are only a few people here who do not have LJ or myspace that I read. And I am sort of apathetic right now.

UPDATES:

I am engaged to be married this June.

I got a job writing a Horror/Comedy for Paramount.

I have moved out of my parent's house to a two bedroom apartment in Antioch.

I have won the Nobel Peace Prize.
